Elisha and Nodumo

Dear Janet,
We would like to let you know that we received the funds for Peniel Centre which you sent through money gram. Thank you so much. Please pass our appreciation to your photographer`s parents- Priscilla and Michael Cupp for their extra special gift. I have attached a thank note including a photo of our whole Peniel family.
We are so much grateful,
Gideon & Jennifer

Peniel Centre staff members and children would like to hereby register our appreciation to you for the support you are rendering us. Thank you so much for remembering us always. Your support is undoubtedly going a long way in bringing smiles on the faces of the children.

At the beginning of the year, our Peniel family was joined by two wonderful children who are from very difficult backgrounds.  Elisha and Nodumo are already in school. Pray  they will adjust well at Peniel Centre especially for Nodumo whose entire life has been that of living on the streets, please see herein below her brief profile:

NODUMO DUBE  came from a background of a child-led family. Her mother died when she was very young, never knowing her father. After the death of her mother, she was placed in the custody of an aunt who is alcoholic. Nodumo was left alone most of the time learning to roam the streets of Bulawayo asking for food from people. It was difficult for her to continue with education as there was literally no one to pay fees, buy uniforms, provide better shelter etc. She still owes some money to the school that she used to go to. The school dismissed her because she was not able to pay fees for herself. We thank God this homeless girl now has a home, family, hope and a future because of Peniel. Although she missed some days of education, we helped her enroll at a school nearby. Nodumo doesn’t have a birth-certificate and does not really know who her father is. She has a desire to know her father but yet she cannot ask anyone because the mother who knew the father died in 2009. Would you please pray for us to be able to get a birth-certificate for her, that she will adjust well at Peniel Centre (remember she comes from the streets)?  The support you gave us will help her to have school uniforms, stationary and school fees.  Please pray she will be able to accept the love that our Peniel Centre staff members give her.

With much appreciation,

Gideon & Jennifer Chishamba
