Meet Seth and Sphamandla from Peniel Center

A Letter from Gideon and Jennifer, caretakers of Peniel Center Orphanage:

Our children, even though the world is going through challenges, have got high hopes of finishing school and being involved in building the nation of Zimbabwe. Your support is making these children believe that they are history makers and we are sure they all have the potential to change things around. Peniel centre staff members and children would like to take this opportunity to register our appreciation to you for all the support that you are rendering to Peniel centre. We are glad to let you know that your support is going a long way in improving the quality of life of orphans and vulnerable children who all reside at Peniel centre.

Six of our Peniel children have just finished writing ‘O’level exams and are currently waiting for their results before they proceed to Advanced level.  Two young boys from Peniel centre, Seth and Sphamandla, have just received their grade seven exam results and are looking forward to going to high school. We are at the moment preparing them for life at high school. The rest of the children have not written any exams this year and are learning from home at the moment due to the lockdown that was imposed by the government. Schools might be opened on the 15th of February or after the 15th of February.

After realizing that unemployment is very high in Zimbabwe, Peniel Centre has initiated skills development training for older children. We envision young people who will leave Peniel centre with skills that will make them earn a living in a nation where unemployment is too high.  We are working on the classroom at the moment and we look forward to seeing our young people getting some skills that will help them in life.

Thank you so much for the support.

Gideon & Jennifer for Peniel Centre

Blessings,

Gideon and Jennifer Chishamba, caretakers of Peniel Centre Orphanage
