Greetings from Peniel centre, the place of transformation and experiencing the presence of God. As Peniel family, we have been studying John 3:16 these days and were amazed by the greatness of God`s love towards us. God`s love is not static nor self-centered; it reaches out and draws others in. When you love someone dearly you are willing to give freely to the point of self-sacrifice. Thank you so much for the way you have demonstrated the love of God towards us, you brought smiles to the faces of Peniel children through your support.
2017 PENIEL REFLECTIONS
We thank God that in 2017, one of our girls, Ayanda; was accepted at a University in Poland. She is currently in Poland studying Tourism and Recreation. This girl came to Peniel centre as a school dropout but thank God through your love and support, she was sent back to school where she excelled up until she was able to go to university this year. Our prayers are for her to be able to finish off her studies.
Babongisi came to Peniel centre some years ago when there was no place for him to go to after his mother and step-father separated. The mother left for South Africa leaving this young man with no home or family since the stepfather did not want him at his home. We thank God for Peniel centre providing a home and family for him. We sent him to school and he is currently at college studying Agriculture. He desires to have his own home or land where he can be able to practice the principles of Agriculture that he is learning at college at the moment.
5 of our children managed to write their ‘O’level exams this year and are currently waiting for their results so that they can go to the next level of high school early next year. Apart from these 5, one of the boys Lizwe wrote his grade seven exams and passed the examination. He desires to go to a better school but the problem that he has is that he doesn’t have a birth certificate. It has been difficult for us to get his birth record from one of the hospitals where he was born. The hospital authorities told us that they lost his birth record and we are doing what we can to assist this young man to get all the identity documents. Please keep on praying for us as we fight for this boy to get the documents.
All the other Peniel children are now on school holiday, some of them did well at the end of year exams while others like Kudzanai did not do very well. Kudzanai is a slow learner and is in a special class at Milton High school. He is not good at other subjects except Agriculture. He got 65% in Agriculture at the end of this year and he desires to pick up from there.
