After the Bell Rings: The Staff (part 2)

In "After the Bell, Part 1", we put the faces to our words of the children of Peniel enjoying life after academics. Part 2 displays how all the various work, sports, and other recreational activities can happen! As Flip Flippen has stated, "This is our strength as educators...great relationships lead to great learning." The staff and administration of the Peniel Centre Orphanage model this process of how relationships and learning go hand in hand.

Over the next few months, we will be highlighting the staff of Peniel. As you see their photos and read their personal stories below, you will quickly understand why the children of the Peniel Centre Orphanage love their adult mentors unconditionally.

Meet the Peniel Centre Staff Members

Gideon Chishamba, the caretaker of Peniel Centre, writes:

"Tenjiwe Ncube is a hands-on staff member who is very much committed to what she is doing at Peniel centre. She has a heart of a mother hence she takes her precious time to teach and train the wonderful children of Peniel centre to have skills. She is the brain behind skills development at Peniel centre. Her passion is to see these children living an independent life after leaving this home. Her commitment to the development of these children is very much amazing, she sometimes works with the children in the middle of the night. She is a married woman with two children. Pray for her children to do well also in school."

"Kudakwashe Makotore is one of the wonderful staff members that we have at Peniel centre. His duties are to provide Psycho-social support to the children who come to and are residents of Peniel centre. We are so much grateful to God for the way this man is so much dedicated to seeing healing taking place in the lives of the children. He does not only provide PSS support, but he is also the teacher who takes his time to academically teach the children. We have seen Peniel children improving their performance at school merely because of the wonderful work that this man is doing. These children are so free at school and also in the community as well as at Church and it is because of the work of this man. We do appreciate so much his support that he is rendering at Peniel centre."

"Sibonginkosi Phili was raised as a double orphan herself (both her parents died in the same week) and she understood very much how is it is to grow as an orphan. She is dedicated to creating a better future for these children through education. She ensures that all the children who come to Peniel centre as school drop-outs are helped to be readmitted again to the public education system of Zimbabwe. She does not only ensures that children are in school but also tries hard that all fees, uniforms, stationery, etc. are provided to the children. She is a lovely mother to these children. She is a married woman who has 3 children of her own. We are so much grateful to these people for their dedication and commitment to minister to our wonderful children."
